Legrand Group certifies its commitment to the environment
The Legrand Group’s manufacturing division, in its commitment to the sustainability and balance of the planet, has obtained the UNE EN ISO14001:2004 certificate; this is a standard used as a reference for the development of an Environmental Management System.
This standard, accepted and recognized worldwide, specifies the requirements for an environmental management system aimed at enabling an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives that take into account the legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information relating to significant environmental aspects. It is applicable to those environmental aspects that the organization identifies that it can control and those over which the organization can have influence, however, this standard does not itself establish specific environmental performance criteria.
The success in obtaining this certificate is due to the satisfactory fulfilment by Legrand Group of all the requirements audited by the competent authorities, which range from establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and constantly improving an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of this international standard, to determining how it will comply with these requirements, defining and documenting the scope of its environmental management system.
Although Legrand Group does not generate large amounts of waste, it has implemented an environmental management system in its daily processes that includes reducing waste such as cardboard and plastic; optimizing resources such as stationery, water supply, electricity, and heating and air conditioning systems.
Likewise, the company promotes among its personnel a philosophy of protection and defence of the environment that allows the employee to follow these processes and procedures that tend, at all times, to minimize environmental impact.
For Legrand Group, a philosophy of sustainability is an indispensable business value for the achievement of the rest of its growth objectives.
